I had my gutters cleaned by TLC. They were very prompt. It did not take long for them to finish and they cleaned up afterwards. I will definitely use their business again.

I had them come clean out my gutters. They cleaned them out so well and left very little mess around the house. They were very quick and efficient. It rained the next few days after they finished and my gutters were no longer overflowed or backed up.

Gutter Clearing FAQs
-
Keeping your gutters clear is crucial to protecting your home. When gutters and downspouts are clogged, rainwater can’t drain properly. This often leads to water overflowing and seeping into places it shouldn’t – causing problems like roof leaks, damage to your fascia or soffits, water pooling around the foundation, and even basement flooding. Regular gutter cleaning ensures water flows safely away from your home, preventing these potentially serious (and costly) issues.
-
Yes – we are fully insured for gutter cleaning work (just as we are for all our services). Our technicians will often be working on ladders and roofs, so we take safety very seriously and carry comprehensive liability insurance to protect your property and our team. We’re also properly trained and licensed for this work. You can have confidence that we’ll do the job safely and responsibly.
-
At minimum, gutters should be cleaned twice a year – typically once in the spring and once in the fall. These are the times when trees shed the most seeds, blossoms, and leaves that can end up in your gutters. If your property has a lot of trees, you might need to clean them more frequently (for example, an extra mid-summer or early winter cleaning) because debris can accumulate faster. The key is to ensure gutters are cleared before heavy rain seasons so water can flow freely.
-
If gutters are left clogged, the consequences can be serious. Leaves and debris will build up and create blockages. Then, during the next rainfall, instead of draining down the spouts, water will overflow the gutters. This overflowing water can rot the edge of your roof, damage exterior wood trim, cause water to pool around your foundation, and even lead to leaks in basements or crawl spaces. In winter, clogged gutters can also contribute to ice dams on your roof. Over time, neglecting gutter cleaning can mean very expensive repairs, which is why regular cleaning is so important (and much cheaper in comparison!).
-
Yes, we offer gutter cleaning services year-round. Our busiest seasons are spring and especially fall (when leaves are falling). However, if you notice an issue in summer or even winter, don’t hesitate to call. As long as it’s safe for us to be on the roof (no active lightning storms or dangerously icy conditions), we can clear your gutters. In light winter conditions, we’ll remove debris as best as possible; in heavy snow/ice, we may schedule you for the next available thaw. But generally, we’re available for gutter cleaning in all seasons.
-
The cost varies based on the size of your home, the length of gutters, and the amount of debris. We’ll ask about the linear footage of your gutters and how long it’s been since your last cleaning to provide an estimate. We provide free estimates to give you an accurate price before any work begins. A small one-story home will typically cost less than a large two-story home with extensive gutter runs. If your gutters are extremely clogged or difficult to access, that can affect pricing slightly, but we always quote everything upfront so you know what to expect.
-
For safety reasons, gutter cleaning is usually postponed during heavy rain or storms. Working on ladders and roofs in a downpour isn’t safe for our technicians, and the wet debris can be messier to handle. Light rain is generally not an issue – we can still perform a cleaning in a mild drizzle if needed. But in heavy rain or thunderstorm conditions, we’ll reschedule to the next clear day. We always prioritize safety and effectiveness, so we’ll make the call if weather is a concern and keep you informed.
-
The time required depends on the size of your home and the condition of your gutters. Typically, a standard gutter cleaning takes 1–3 hours. For example, a small ranch house with moderate debris might be on the shorter end (around an hour or so). A larger two-story home or one with very packed gutters could take a couple of hours or more. Our crew works efficiently, but we also make sure to do a thorough job and won’t rush. When you schedule, we can give you a rough time estimate based on homes similar to yours.
-
Absolutely – our gutter cleaning service includes clearing out the downspouts to ensure proper water flow. We don’t consider the job done until all vertical downspout channels are checked and flowing. We will flush or snake the downspouts as needed to remove any clogs. Clearing downspouts is critical, because even if the gutters themselves are clear, a clogged downspout will cause overflow. Rest assured we take care of the whole drainage system.
-
No – our team is trained to clean gutters carefully without causing damage to your roof, gutters, or siding. We use stabilizers on our ladders so they don’t lean heavily on your gutters. We also hand-remove debris or use gentle water flushing; we don’t aggressively pry or use high pressure that could disturb shingles or siding. In short, we take precautions to protect your home’s exterior while we’re working. After all, the whole point is to prevent damage – not cause any!
-
You do not need to be home, as long as we have access to your gutters. We perform gutter cleanings entirely from the outside, so as long as gates are unlocked and we can safely set up our ladders around the house, you can be away. Many customers are at work or running errands while we clean. We will notify you once the service is complete (we can leave behind a door hanger or send a text/email confirmation). If you prefer to be home, that’s fine too, but it’s not required.
-
Yes, we offer annual maintenance plans to ensure your gutters stay clean and functional year-round. Many customers opt for our Spring and Fall recurring service – we’ll automatically come out each season to clean your gutters, so you never have to worry or remember to schedule. We can also customize a plan (for example, quarterly cleanings) if your property needs more frequent upkeep. These plans come with the benefit of priority scheduling and peace of mind that your home is protected throughout the year.
-
We can in many cases, depending on the type of gutter guard. If your gutters have screens or covers, we are often able to either remove sections of the guard or work beneath them to clear out debris. Some types of gutter guards are easy to work with (flip-up or removable screens), while others that are permanently installed can be more challenging. Let us know what kind of guards you have – we’ll evaluate them and be upfront about what we can do. We do not typically remove and reinstall full gutter guard systems during a cleaning, but we can often clear clogs by spraying water or using special tools under the guard. In short, we’ll do our best to get your gutters flowing even if guards are present.
-
Signs include water overflowing from the gutters during rain, gutters sagging or pulling away from the house, staining on the siding (tiger-striping below the gutter line), or even plants growing in the gutter channel! If you observe any of these, it’s a sure sign the gutters need attention. Even without obvious signs, if it’s been more than a year since your last cleaning, it’s a good idea to have them checked. We can also perform an inspection if you’re unsure – we’d rather catch clogs early than have you discover an issue during a heavy storm.
-
Definitely. We always clean up after ourselves. All the leaves, pine needles, and gunk we remove from your gutters will be collected and taken away (or disposed of in your yard waste bin, if that’s your preference). We make sure not to leave a mess on your lawn or in your flowerbeds. In fact, customers often comment on how tidy everything looks when we’re done – one customer noted that we “left very little mess around the house” after a gutter service. Our goal is to leave your property looking better than we found it.
-
Absolutely. We want you to be completely satisfied with the results. If for any reason you’re not happy or if we missed a spot, let us know right away. We guarantee our gutter cleaning work and will re-clean or address any issue promptly. Our aim is 100% satisfaction – your gutters should be flowing freely and your experience with us should be positive from start to finish.
